Alvin L. Sermons, M.D., RPh is a South Georgia native and has been in private practice for over 25 years as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist in the Atlanta area. Dr. Sermons received his B.S. from Valdosta State University in Business, completed a Master’s in Pharmacy, including post graduate research from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where he also completed his residency.

Dr. Sermons is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of numerous medical societies such as Atlanta OB/GYN Society, the Atlanta Medical Association, the Medical Association of Atlanta, the Medical Association of Georgia and the National Medical Association. He is also a member of the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, where he serves on its Executive Board. Dr. Sermons founded Dunwoody Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C. where he continues to see patients in a private practice setting. He also has enjoyed serving as a volunteer medical consultant for the ladies of Spelman College for the past 20 years.

Dr. Sermons always dreamed of a lifetime of helping people. When asked why he has stayed in a solo practice for so long, he stated, "Economies of scale are important, especially in today’s medical environment. However, I’ve always wanted to provide my patients with state-of-the-art personalized care in a warm and caring environment."
